Chiffon Silk Fabric
fibres and fabrics beautifully coloured by hand Treetops just received a special ‘limited edition’ shipment of extra wide (140cm, 55inch) Silk Chiffon fabric. Fantastic for sewing and nuno felting of garments because of its wider width a slightly heavier weight (5.5 momme). We have created a unique dyeing technique for this fabric called ‘Base Tones’. The fabric is designed to coordinate with many different Colour Harmonies. By removing the highlight colour, we have created a more tonal colourway. You can then add a variety of ‘splash’ colours to make your own personalized colour statement.
Chiffon – Wide 4.3mm
fibres and fabrics beautifully coloured by hand We have created a unique dyeing technique for this fabric called ‘Base Tones’. These fabrics offer a more subtle tonal colourway, designed to coordinate with a variety of our Colour Harmonies. As an option, you can choose to add your own ‘highlight’ colour and create your own personalized Colour Harmony. Silk Chiffon possesses a slightly more lustrous weave than our Tissue Silk (Silk Georgette) but is not as shiny as our Paj (Habotai) silk fabric. It also features an elegant drape and handle. NEW to Treetops in June 2019! We are excited to offer a ‘Special Limited Edition Sale Priced’ 4.3 momme extra wide, Silk Chiffon (140cm wide,55inches). This fabric is fine and translucent enough to see through. It is an excellent choice for fine nuno felting. Treetops is also offering a special ‘Limited Edition’ 6.5 momme’ extra wide (140cm, 55inch) Silk Chiffon fabric. This fabric has fantastic drape and would lend itself to any sewing project or be an excellent choice for a more sturdy nuno felted garment. When you purchase 140cm (55inch) wide fabric, the cost is slightly higher, but remember you will receive 23% more fabric! Minimum order .5 metre.
Paj Silk Fabric
fibres and fabrics beautifully coloured by hand Treetops has developed a unique dyeing technique for our Colour Marks series which produces pronounced markings and colour movement throughout the entire surface of the fabric. Paj Silk Fabric offers a luxurious look and elegant feel. It has a refined lustre and slightly denser weave than the Tissue Silk Fabric and is an excellent choice for Nuno feltmaking.
